The Shenzhen Code is the new edition of the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants, which supersedes the previous Melbourne Code. The provisions of the Shenzhen Code became effective on 29 July 2017 at the closing plenary session of the XIX International Botanical Congress in Shenzhen, China, upon acceptance of a resolution that the decisions and appointments of the Nomenclature Section of the Congress be approved.

The Shenzhen Code includes a Preface, describing in detail what is new in this edition, a key to re-numbering between the Melbourne Code and the Shenzhen Code, a list of important dates in the Code, the Preamble, Division I (the Principles), Division II (the rules and recommendations), consisting of Articles 1–62, a new Chapter F bringing together the provisions that deal solely with names of organisms treated as fungi, and Chapter H (formerly Appendix I), on names of hybrids. Division III, the provisions for governance of the Code, is much expanded and mostly new. There is also a Glossary of terms used in the Code, an index of scientific names, and a subject index. The seven Appendices of the Code (suppressed works, conserved, protected, and rejected names, and binding decisions) are freely available online at http://botany.si.edu/references/codes/props/index.cfm.
